Editing events

You can edit the details of an event as needed. If the event is part of a series (an event that repeats at regular intervals), only the occurrence that you are editing is affected.

Note: Editing events requires the "Appointment Events, Edit" security right.

To edit an event

In Appointment Book, do one of the following:

Double-click an event.

Right-click an event, and then click Edit Event.

If applicable, do one of the following:

If the Password - Appointment Events, Edit dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Appointment Events, Edit" task. Do one of the following:

If your user account has been granted the "Appointment Events, Edit" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.

If your user account has not been granted the "Appointment Events, Edit" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can edit the event this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.

If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Appointment Events, Edit" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can edit the event this one time, do the following:

On the message, click Yes.

In the Password - Appointment Events, Edit dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.

The Edit Event dialog box appears.

Make any necessary changes. For information about the available options, see the topic about scheduling events.

Click OK.
